Camping at NALS, Coonoor - Grades 4 to 7 : August 18 to 20
“I Would rather be lost in the woods than found in the city"
The Little Buds of Queen Mira started were given an opportunity to get into the woods of Coonoor for 2 nights and 3 days. The adventure camp was organized in union with NALS at their Coonoor campsite for the students of graders IV to VIII with 44 students and 5 staff. The dawn of the day was filled with fun and joy, with students bubbling with energy and the journey started around 6.00 a.m. from the school premises and reached the campsite around 4.00 p.m. Though it was a long journey the children made it lively and enthusiastic .
The moment they stepped into the campsite their excitements and expectations grew high. The children went for a small nature trail around the tea gardens. They had a relishing dinner and the children were educated about night safety and the rules of the camp before they could hug their pillows and sleeping bags.
Nature is cheaper than Therapy
The day started with a morning walk and warm up exercises. The children showed curiosity and eagerness in the activity session. The Burma bridge and single line rope walking was terrifying at the first look. There were few brave volunteers who started the activity and it was real fun. The team was luckier enough with a heavy shower, after which they went for a valley trek to the view point.
At the end of the day, your feet should be ‘DIRTY’, your hair ‘MESSY’ and your eyes SPARKLING
The talent hunt gave room to expose their hidden talents. Children came out of their comfort zone and exhibited their talents with lot of enthusiasm and excitement. The next day had more games and fun for the kinds. The Zip line was a real thrilling experience for all. The time did come for bidding farewell to the wonderful place and genius trainers. The children were loaded with memories which was also captured under a pleasing shower.
Fill your life with Experiences, not Things, have Stories to tell, not stuff to show.
Keep Calm and Camp On!
