Slumber bash G2 February 03
“Well, you don't get to do things that other children get to do, having friends and slumber parties and buddies. There were none of that for me. I didn't have friends when I was little. My brothers were my friends.”
This was said by Michael Jackson. Now the generation has changed. Adolescents have various fun activities to spend with their friends. But our tiny tots have fun only with friends as birthday parties or going with their parents for New Year celebration. To bring in a change we in QMIS thought why not have slumber bash i.e. staying with their friends and teachers in the school with child safety measures as we all know that we are CIS members. So on 03.02.2018 we had slumber bash for grade 2. The circular was sent to the parents 15 days ahead for the approval. For our surprise nearly 70% parents gave their approval. The previous day the children went home to come back by gearing up themselves for the party.
On 03.02.18 all our kiddies came around 04.45 pm with their baggage’s for their night stay. We found that it was the parents who were feeling whether their child would stay without them. But the kids said bye to them and joined their friends. The party started with a welcome drink followed by games arranged by the PE team. A mini theatre was organized in the courtyard with a projector and movie for kids along with popcorn to bring the theatre atmosphere. It was really a great fun for the children whom they expressed through dancing and singing. After this they had dinner followed by fire camp singing camp songs. Along with this they had milk brushed teeth made their own bed for sleeping. They had the night prayer and went to sleep. The teachers were exhausted but our little darlings were still overwhelming with energy so in bed also they had fun and went to sleep.
Next morning they got up with same energy brushed their teeth saw the sunrise. After a mild exercise they had milk with breakfast and got ready to leave home asking when will we have our next ‘Slumber Bash”
Friends are one of the greatest treasures we have in life. We choose our friends and share ourselves with them in good times, bad times and through every day life.
