Field trip to Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace- October 23

‘The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel the happiness living within that environment.’

‘Cleaning a Monument’ is a part of Heritage Club Activities and the Children of grades IV and V were taken for a fieldtrip to Thirumalai Nayakkar Palaceon 18th of July’18 by the Club Incharges Ms. Archanaa Karthikeyan and Ms. Nandhini. Around 115 children and 8 teachers took part in this activity. The students were enthusiastic to take up the responsibility of cleaning the Palace. The Regional Assistant Director of Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, Mr. Sakthivel briefed the students about the process involved in preserving and cleaning any monument. The children felt informative after the talkabout. They cleaned the sculptures in the Museum with a great pride of having the club’s goal ‘To explore the past, by experiments and to preserve the values for the future’ in their young minds. Mr. Sakthivel appreciated the students for the great job done and the school for inculcating such a great thought in the students’ mind. He also requested the students to share the feed forward comments. The students happily shared their views and felt the importance of preserving any monument after seeing the sculptures glittering.
