International Chef's Day Report

“A recipe has no soul. YOU as the cook must bring soul to the recipe”

With the objective to excite the kids about the importance of healthy eating , to teach them good eating habits and to impart basic home cooking skills to the students’ community the South India Culinary Association organised the International Chef’s Day on October 20, 2016 in our school premises between 10.30 and 1.00 pm. On account of this the following events were scheduled:

“Art on Plate” - Graders 3 to 8 exhibited their talents by decorating their plates with edibles “Flameless Cooking” - Healthy and delicious food with appropriate nutritional value were prepared by the young chefs of graes 6 to 8.

The students of Mary Matha Catering College who were a part of this special event, extended their helping hands to the participants, to complete their task.

Following the competitions, a briefing on basic home cooking skills including hygienic practices. and traditional cooking was done by the members of the Chef Association .

Finally, the winners “Kitchen Killadies” were awarded with gold , silver and bronze medals in addition to the gift hampers by the South India Culinary Association.
