Visit to Places of Worship
"Lord Shiva was not a Hindu, Jesus was not a Christian, Muhammad was not a Muslim. They were teachers who taught Love. Love was their Religion."
The Kinder Garteners were given an opportunity to visit the different places of worship- Church, Temple and Mosque on 20th of August. The concept of visiting all three places is to cultivate the moral value of respecting all religions to future generation who can give life to it. The pilgrimage started at around 10.30 AM. They were taken to St. Mary’s Church were they got an insight about the birth of Lord Jesus and Mother Mary, the ways of worshipping and the various offerings given to the God. Then the travel continued to the Mosque in Melakal. The children were briefed on the worshipping way of not having an Idol, instead worshipping the crescent shaped moon that is facing towards Mecca, the birth place of Prophet Mohammed. Following this, they were taken to the Mayil Vel Murugan temple at Kochadai. The children were educated about the various postures and gestures of praying in the temple. And they also explained that the priest is one who offers prayers in the temple, Imam in the Dharga and the Father in the church.
On the way back, the children were enlightened on the various Holy books and the teaching of those books, “God is one and He lives in the Heart of good people”. Giving an exposure to many forms and educating that all religions are the same was the prime objective of the trip. Having succeeded in this the teachers and students returned to school happily.
The children came back to school around 02.00PM saying the mantra, “In reality, there is only one religion that is Love”.
