VISIT TO A HAND-LOOM HOUSE - GRADE 1 : JULY 21

“Baa Baa black sheep have you any wool?
Yes Sir Yes Sir two bags full,
One for the teacher and one for you
To make a super sweater to wear
When you feel cool”

“Butterfly O butterfly don’t be angry For stealing your cocoon to Make a little silk for me”

QMIS did give our grade 1 children a wonderful opportunity to recite these rhymes in the most appropriate place (ie) the Handloom house. Our little ones were ready to explore the weaving unit. They were taken to Mangal Print, run by Mr Saravana Kumar which is located at sellur on 21.07.17. A warm welcome was given to our kidos by him and his unit members. The children were eager to have an experiential learning as they were already equipped with enough knowledge about weaving and weavers in the classes. The people in the unit helped them in learning about the Power loom as well as handloom in detail. They showed them how the cloth is been weaved. The children were very comfortable in knowing things as the medium of communication was English. To add on to their excitement, children were gifted with one set of towel and biscuits. On the whole the trip was an enjoyable and an informative one.
