Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL)
In order to make our students aware of the urgency of conserving energy , to minimize the global warming and to save the earth a presentation on Compact Fluorescent Lamp was arranged. They were made aware of the gap between demand and supply in electricity production in India . The inadequacy of electricity supply was explained stating the fact that more than 40% households in India use kerosene lamp to light their houses and suffer from diseases affecting lungs. This session explained the children the differences between the General Lighting System (GLS) and CFL. They were also explained on the method of functioning of both and the advantages and disadvantages of using one over the other.
