2nd National Prize of the APPRENTICE SCIENTIST

The Lycee Francais de Puducherry (Section of Excellence in Science) has launched for the 2nd year the Prize of The Apprentice Scientist all around India.

On wednesday 27th November 2013, from 10am to 3.30pm, the Lycee Francais de Pondichery (Section of Excellence in Science) in collaboration with Queen Mira International School conducted the 2nd edition of the National Prize of the Apprentice Scientist for the 8th standard students motivated in science at Queen Mira International School, Madurai. 12 schools of Madurai and Dindugul participated with teams of 5 students , interested in Science, from 8th standard .

The following schools emerged as the winners.
1st Place - Velammal Vidyalaya, Madurai.
2nd Place - SSM Academy, Dindugul.
3rd Place - Adhyapana School, Madurai.

The winner team was awarded the book of "Nicole Ostroswky "Agenda of the Apprentice Scientist, published by University Press. The Prize has been inspired by that book written by Nicole Ostroswky, eminent French Physicist, Professor of Physics (University of Sophia Antipolis).

This competition is based on experiments mostly in physics and chemistry and gave an opportunity to the students to show their skills and talent in the field of science.Each team received the same set of materials with which they demonstrated and explained the experiments in an interactive way with Nicole Ostrowsky.

Philippe Dariel, Vice-Principal of Lycee Francais de Pondichery.
Brigitte Maury, Project Manager of the Section of Excellence in Science of Lycee Francais de Pondichery indienne Sishya (Michelin).
