MOSQUITO BITE

Principle: This activity ’Mosquito Bite’ is a working model of how the mosquito bites the human being.

Concept: Malarial transmission in human beings.

TURN ON YOUR SEED

Principle: The students conduct an experiment to discover which solution is best for seed germination.

Concept: Study of seed structure and germinating conditions.

UNSEEN DANGERS

Principle: This activity ‘Unseen Dangers’ show the micro organisms that are present in our hand with the help of laser light.

Concept: Importance of scale in microbial world and awareness about hygiene practices.

LUNG DIAPHRAM

Principle: This ‘Lung Diaphragm Model’ activity is a working model of a human lung that has two balloons attached to the T joint enclosed in a plastic bottle. The diaphragm is depicted by another balloon stretched tight over the cut portion of the bottle.

Concept: Mechanism of breathing.

BOILING IN PAPER CUP

Principle: Boiling of water in a paper cup by keeping it on direct flame.

Concept: The importance of ignition temperature and good conductors of heat.

BALLOON ROCKET

Principle: Boiling of water in a paper cup by keeping it on direct flame.

Concept: propelling of rocket.

AGENT ORANGE

Principle: This activity involves testing the presence of starch with the help of an iodine solution which turns blue black in colour.

Concept: Testing the presence of starch in food and developing the concept of balanced diet.

DINO HUNT

Principle: This activity helps in examining the extinct remains.

Concept: Understanding the extinct remains and classifying them as herbivorous and carnivorous.

WHO EATS WHAT

Principle: The aim of this activity is to show that animals have many adaptations – to their environment and life habit.

Concept: Animals adapt to their environment for different reasons.

PURE WATER

Principle: This activity is based on how dust particles get dissolved in water and sediment.

Concept: This involves the water purification technique.

BULKY PULLEY

Principle: This activity ‘Bulky Pulley’ deals on how a simple pulley is used to lift up heavy weight.

Concept: This is the working model of the pulley and its application.

TELL TALE TEETH

Principle: This activity is to find out how much damage sugary- drinks can cause to teeth. And how effective the cleaning is when tooth paste is used on it.

Concept: Reasons for Tooth Decay and ways to prevent it.

SUPER SENSES

Principle: Students will learn about the super senses of animals.

Concept: Detailed study of the super senses of animals based on the shape and size of each organ.

OILY SPOILY

Principle: The ‘Oily Spoily’ activity involves the testing of fat present in food by using ethanol and water.

Concept: Testing the presence of fat in food.

INVISIBLE INK

Principle: This ‘Invisible Ink’ activity involves writing on paper with the NaOH solution, which becomes invisible upon drying. The message is then read by wiping the universal indicator on the dried paper.

Concept:Understanding the basic nature of the substance.
